What it is
CJC-1295 without DAC is the first 29 amino acids of growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) with four substitutions (positions 2, 8, 15 and 27) that protect it from rapid breakdown. The version "with DAC" adds a drug affinity complex that binds albumin and extends its half-life to about a week; the version here has no DAC and acts for well under an hour.
How it works
It binds the GHRH receptor on pituitary cells and stimulates a natural pulse of growth hormone, which in turn raises IGF-1 from the liver.
What the research shows
- The long-acting DAC version raised growth hormone and IGF-1 for days after single injections in healthy adults (Teichman et al., Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2006).
- Published human data on the no-DAC form specifically are limited.
Regulatory status
Not FDA-approved. GHRH analogs are prohibited in sport by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
Storage and handling
Lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder is most stable sealed, dry and protected from light. Laboratory practice is to keep unopened vials frozen at about -20 °C for long-term storage, or refrigerated at 2 to 8 °C for shorter periods. After reconstitution, keep the solution refrigerated at 2 to 8 °C, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles and use aseptic technique for every draw. Formal stability data in solution has not been published for most research peptides, so follow the supplier's label and certificate of analysis.
Reconstitution math
To work out concentration, volume and U-100 syringe units for any vial size, use the reconstitution calculator with CJC-1295 without DAC selected. Always confirm the vial content against the label and the batch's certificate of analysis.
